My second life story is also from my high school days and also involves my friend Stefan. I had just recently met my best friend Stefan and he brought up the idea of a student led youth group to me. At first I was skeptical but after thinking about it I saw the potential. Much like our school club, we started a large gathering of students who live the Lord. The only difference with this was that we were on our own and had a lot more potential.
My friend’s parents owned a wedding chapel in our home town and this served as a perfect location free of cost that we could go to worship God. We would meet every Monday night to worship, pray, minister and basically follow the spirit’s plan. We saw ourselves as tools and our gathering as a canvas for God’s glory.
We called our gathering the Oasis and at Oasis we saw many wonderful things. On our first night my friend spoke and there were four people total in attendance, my friend speaking, his brother playing the guitar, and his girlfriend and I talking during worship. While this may seem comical, we were very faithful to God in this. We went from four to eight and eight to 20 and before we knew it we had a regular attendance of about 35 students with one night totaling near 60.
